We stock the Dip as a 415mm honeycomb louvre grid for controlling glare from large recessed downlights and spotlights. It is made from black-finished aluminium, with a hexagonal cell structure that restricts light to a narrower angle and stops you seeing the lamp directly from the side. Rather than changing the fitting itself, it slots into the aperture to focus the light into a tighter downward cone.

We find this grid works best in offices, retail displays, galleries and higher-specification homes, anywhere glare needs to be kept in check without swapping the whole fitting. The 415mm diameter suits standard large recessed downlights with apertures in the 400 to 450mm range, and it clips or fixes into the aperture of a compatible fitting once that fitting is already installed. The black finish absorbs stray reflections inside the cells, so the grid holds contrast and does not become a bright distraction under a strong lamp.
